‘I want to support and do what I can for the service members within the region’
The Exchange welcomed Army Sgt. Maj. Jason A. Urquhart to serve as its Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Europe/Africa/Southwest Asia region.
Urquhart serves as the key liaison between Exchange leadership and the local commands and Exchange shoppers in his region.
“I’m taking the time to learn how to be an advocate for the military community. I want to support and do what I can for the service members within the region,” said Urquhart, who has served for 25 years. “With time, I am hoping to benefit the organization and the communities it serves.”
Urquhart hails from Chicago. He moved to Arkansas in 1992 where he enlisted in the Army. He began his military career as a utilities and equipment repair technician at Fort Bragg for three years, served in automated logistics in Forts Carson, Sill and Bliss for 19 years, and took on a leadership role as senior logistical advisor in Sembach in 2020.
Urquhart deployed four times to Iraq and Afghanistan during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. His most recent assignment before joining the Exchange was as the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, Army Chief of Staff G3 Sergeant Major. Urquhart holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in management.
“This is an exciting new chapter for me,” Urquhart said. “I’m honored to work with the Army & Air Force Exchange Services, providing comfort to the military and their families while they’re away from home.”
Congratulations.
