The saying, โThird timeโs a charmโ hits close to home for Exchange HQ Contract Specialist Katrina Jones, who was selected as this yearโs Health and Safety Motto Contest winner.
โThis was my third time participating in the contest,โ Jones said. โItโs always fun to come up with different mottos.โ
Jones entered several ideas including the winning motto, โItโs 2023! Safety is Key,โ which demonstrates the importance of staying safe in the workplaceโa requirement Jones believes is vital.
โSafety starts with our field associates. All associates, as well as our customers, deserve a safe environment to work and shop, and to have the safest year possible,โ Jones said. โTo do whatโs best for the organization and our customers, we must prioritize safety. It can become a negative ripple effect if associates arenโt safe and end up injured.โ

Jones received the grand prizeโa $100 Exchange gift card along with a challenge coin and certificate of appreciation from the Health and Safety office.
More than 800 entries were submitted by associates worldwide, said Vice President of Loss Prevention Tommie Caudle.
โIt was exciting to see so many associates throughout the Exchange submitting their ideas and helping spread the importance of safety this year,โ he said.
Four runners-up each won a $50 Exchange gift card, coin and certificate.
First runner-up: Jan Sandberg, maintenance foreman, RAF Lakenheath, “All Year, Safety Works Here!โ
Second runner-up: Gabriel Vasquez, Human Resources assistant, Camp Foster, “2023โฆ Safetyโs Up to You and Me!โ
