Ribbon cutting at the Barksdale AFB Starbuck Military Family store.

The Barksdale Air Force Base Exchange Starbucks is sporting a new look after undergoing small improvements.

The Starbucks is becoming a Military Family store and received additional seating; new flooring, paint and wall tile; and updated counters and equipment. 2nd Mission Support Group Commander Col. Lance H. McInnish and members of the Barksdale community celebrated the storeโ€™s reopening Aug. 22 with free samples of coffee and treats.

โ€œCustomers are responding to the upgraded facility, and itโ€™s showing,โ€ General Manger Stacy Firemoon said. โ€œSales have more than doubled and our commandโ€™s support of the upgraded location has been great.โ€

The Military Family recognition solidifies the store as a true hub for the community, expressing its support of Airmen with military-focused artwork, guidons, American flags and murals. Associates who are connected to the military wear special green aprons denoting their affiliation with the military community.

All of the Exchangeโ€™s 81 Starbucks locations are becoming Military Family stores. Stores will receive a designated plaque and artwork as renovations are completed.
