Access to convenient dining options continues to grow at the Military Corrections Complex at Fort Leavenworth. The United States Disciplinary Barracks (USDB) added the 12th self-serve 24/7 store to the Military Corrections Complex that makes up the USDB and Joint Regional Correctional Facility (JRCF). The JRCF opened the first self-serve store in spring 2024.

“We’re proud to celebrate the opening of the 12th self-serve 24/7 store,” said Brigade Commander/USDB Commandant Col. Douglas J. Curtis. “The Exchange has been a valued partner in making sure our team is equipped to serve effectively and efficiently.”

Access to the store is limited to service members and staff assigned to USDB. To further support personnel working 24-hour shifts, the store also offers essential toiletries for added convenience.

“Providing this store inside the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks significantly enhances the morale and welfare of the many civilian and joint-service uniformed staff members who perform a no-fail 24/7 mission for the United States Army,” said USDB Deputy Commandant Mr. Michael L. Baker. “Unlike other occupations in unrestricted spaces, personnel dedicated to our mission are consistently engaged and might not have the same beverage, food and dining accommodations or opportunities due to our occupational constraints and security posture.”

Like similar stores worldwide, the unit offers meals and snacks aligned with the Exchange’s BE FIT 360 initiative to empower our Nation’s heroes to make informed choices that support their wellness goals. Selections include fresh fruit, yogurt, trail mix, bottled water and more.

“Many of our service members and staff at Fort Leavenworth are nearly 30 minutes away from dining options and often remain on-installation for the entirety of their shift or purchase meals from food truck vendors,” said Fort Leavenworth Exchange Services Business Manager Candy Bullock. “The store provides them with a variety of options without the stress of finding time to step away for a meal.”
