24 Feet of Awesome: Selfridge ANGB Opens 4th 24/7 Self-Service Store at Detroit Arsenal

There’s a new 24/7 self-service store in town for Detroit Arsenal’s 70,000 service members and personnel, as the Exchange recently opened the fourth store for the installation.
Detroit Arsenal does not have a food court, so visitors rely heavily on food trucks and self-service stores. The newest store replaces vending machines to bring more options to the installation.
“The store is a perfect example of how we adapt to the mission of serving those who serve,” said Selfridge ANGB Exchange General Manager Charles Thrasher. “We know that traditional retail facilities aren’t always feasible, especially in smaller locations. This allows us to be here for our Warfighters—providing convenience, quality and fair pricing 24/7 right here where they work.”
The store introduces a ramen cooker, coffee vending machine, four microwaves, 24 feet of snacks, meals and drinks and two point-of-sale kiosks.
“Whether it’s inside the store or through a self-service store, Team Exchange is proud to support our Nation’s heroes with flexible, mission-driven solutions,” said Services Business Manager Doaa Hassan.
The grand opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting attended by Army Garrison Manager William A. Cole, Deputy Garrison Manager Cherie Westphal, Snack Guys LLC Owner Bryan Grasso-Shonka, Morale Welfare and Recreation Director Katy Carte, Thrasher and Hassan.
