Panera Pulls Up to Fort Belvoir’s North Post Express

Fort Belvoir’s North Post Express got a fresh upgrade with the opening of Panera Bread, bringing better-for-you meals to the military community on the installation.
The opening of Panera, the sixth in the Exchange’s restaurant portfolio, reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to expand dining options to support healthy lifestyles for service members and families.
Exchange General Manager Kim Neiss led a ribbon-cutting to welcome the new restaurant.
“The Exchange is always working to bring name-brand favorites like Panera to the military community,” Neiss said. “All of our restaurants offer better-for-you choices to support readiness and resiliency. Adding Panera to the dining lineup makes it easier to live well on Fort Belvoir.”
Aligned with the Exchange’s BE FIT 360 program, Panera features low-calorie sandwiches, salads, soups and more.
Diners can eat in, carry out or place mobile orders for pick-up on the Panera app.
MILITARY STAR® cardmembers can receive a 10% discount on purchases from participating Exchange restaurants, including Panera—a benefit that saved cardmembers $4 million in 2024.
Anyone with installation access, including visitors, can purchase food at the Express and Exchange restaurants. Shopping and dining at the Exchange support the Fort Belvoir community, as 100% of Exchange earnings are reinvested in military communities through support for on-post Quality-of-Life programs, as well as capital improvements, including the new Panera.
