Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston recently got a taste of Italy with the grand opening of Sbarro in the Exchange food court.

The two-month, $400,000 project opened Oct. 20 and was commemorated with giveaways and a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by 502nd Force Support Group Commander Col. Marie Slack and Command Sgt. Maj. Jeremiah Del Rio.

“At the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Exchange, we’re excited to continually bring a variety of flavors to our Nation’s heroes, reiterating our commitment to the Exchange motto: ‘We go where you go’,” said Fort Sam Houston General Manager Madeline Salazar.
