
On Sept. 24, 1977—44 years ago today—the Exchange opened its first solar-powered shopping center at Randolph Air force Base near San Antonio, Texas.

Shortly before Joanne Alhambra left the Holloman Air Force Base in August for a new assignment at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska, she received an unexpected honor.
