Kuwait Hunt Brothers Pizzas Offer Troops a Slice of Normalcy

“We’re seeing lots of happy faces,” said Kuwait General Manager Stanley Young. “The service members are very grateful for some variety in their meals.”
As the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the globe, all Exchange restaurants at Kuwait installations closed March 18 after command request.
On April 27, Hunt Brothers Pizzas reopened at Camp Arifjan and Camp Buehring to the delight of troops whose only dining option had been military dining facilities.
“We’re seeing lots of happy faces,” said Kuwait General Manager Stanley Young. “The service members are very grateful for some variety in their meals.”
The Hunt Brothers Pizza locations are offering only carryout to allow for physical distancing. Floor decals mark the required distance for diners in line, and the Exchange facilities housing the restaurants limit the number of shoppers in the store.
Additionally, the Hunt Brothers Pizza locations were thoroughly cleaned during the closure and inspected by the local medical authorities before reopening.
Associates were retrained on sanitation measures to prevent cross-contamination, all customer contact points are cleaned hourly and diners and associates are required to wear face masks while inside the building.
“We’re making safety the top priority while we serve our troops,” Young said.
The Camp Arifjan Hunt Brothers Pizza was the top location worldwide for sales on the first day it reopened, averaging about 80 pizzas an hour, with Camp Buehring close behind.
