When the first shipment of Space Force merchandise arrived at the Buckley AFB Exchange, word traveled fast—the first batch of clothing with the official logo of the newest branch of the Armed Forces sold out within hours.
“It just flies off the shelves,” Buckley Exchange General Manager Cindy Cantu said. “If you really think about it, it’s really monumental. It’s a brand-new branch of the service—and the Exchange is honored to serve it.”
One-day sales when the first shipment of Space Force merchandise arrived totaled $1,440.
Cantu requested a small order to start, she said. The first shipment included about 100 T-shirts and 25 polo shirts, each sporting the Space Force’s logo, which resembles an arrowhead pointing toward the skies.
Official clothing includes four styles of T-shirts in four colors and one polo shirt in two colors.
Sweat shirts and sweat pants also are available, along with hats, mouse pads, lanyards, coffee mugs and coins that feature the Buckley logo and the Space Force logo.
Stadium blankets are coming soon.
“We didn’t know what anything would look like, we just knew everything would have the correct logo,” she said.
The merchandise is available at Buckley, Peterson and Vandenberg Exchanges. Space Force insignias are avaliable at Shopmyexchange.com.
The U.S. Space Force was established in December within the Department of the Air Force. In July, a new Space Force unit—Buckley Garrison—was welcomed to the base.
Cantu first saw the new merchandise outside the Exchange when Col. Devin Pepper, commander of Buckley Garrison, wore a Space Force shirt at a town hall meeting.
“The Exchange is proud to offer our support to the Airmen who are a part of this branch of service,” Cantu said. “We stand by to offer them whatever they need.”
