Like most everything in 2020, Black Friday is sure to look and feel different this year because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
In preparing for one of the busiest shopping days of the year, the Exchange remains dedicated to protecting Soldiers, Airmen and their families by providing safe, secure and sanitized shopping along with great value on Nov. 27 and throughout the holiday season.
Associates will play a vital role in fulfilling that mission on Black Friday and in the weeks that follow.
โProtecting the force remains the Exchangeโs No. 1 priority,โ said Chief Operating Officer Jason Rosenberg. โWe want customers to feel confident shopping with us this holiday season, in-store and online, knowing that the Exchange is taking all possible precautions to keep them safe.โ
The Exchange kicked off the holiday shopping season early this year with the September launch of the 12 Weeks of Black Friday Savings, which runs through Nov. 25.
To lessen crowds in stores on Black Friday, the Exchange is emphasizing flexible options such as using ShopMyExchange.com, buy online pick up in store service and contactless curbside pickup.
โBlack Friday 2020 is sure to be unlike anything we have experienced before,โ said Exchange President and Chief Merchandising Officer Ana Middleton. โThe Exchange is embracing new shopping normals by providing customers the value and excitement they expect while shopping for the holidays.โ
Exchange stores, malls and restaurants will open at 8 a.m. Nov. 27, an hour earlier than usual, with limited capacities and social distancing protocols enforced. Hand-sanitizing stations and social distancing signs are already in place at Exchange store worldwide.
Davis-Monthan AFB Exchange General Manager Mikel Hunter has organized a team of associates who will be dedicated to completing curbside delivery requests on Black Friday.
โIf a customer prefers an entirely contactless purchase from start to finish, they can stay in the comfort of their vehicle,โ he said. โOur associates are more than happy to deliver their items to them so they can be on their way again in no time.โ
Be sure to share the excitement of holiday shopping around the world by sending your best Black Friday pictures to us here! Weโll include them in the Exchange Post Flickr Album.
Please send your pictures saved as jpegs and as attachments. Do not reduce them in size or embed them in the text of an email.
