On March 11, the McConnell Air Force Base Exchange participated in the base-wide “Bring Your Kid to Work Day” event hosted by the Airman & Family Readiness Center.

More than 500 military kids were given an activity passport upon entry. Activities included playing with inflatables, arts and crafts, free lunch provided by the AFRC with food truck options provided by McConnell Exchange and a trip to the Exchange’s table at the event.

Exchange associates handed out “military brat” patches and gave away toys to kids visiting the table. Associates also explained how the Exchange goes wherever they go—serving their parents and others who serve.

Kids were also able to see a military plane and learn more about the units and departments at McConnell AFB.

“It was a great time to network and build relationships with our community,” said McConnell BX Store Manager Joni Christensen. “We stirred up some excitement about the Exchange!”

McConnell AFB Exchange will collaborate with the AFRC again in April at the Family Festival of Fun.
