OPERATION: Call Out—Western Region

Operation Call Out

Western Region recognizes Charity Ball, David Christianson and Brandon Nava for their outstanding hard work and unwavering dedication to our customers.

Charity Ball
Barber Shop Manager
Davis-Monthan Air Force Base

Charity assumed the role of Barber Shop manager in August 2022. With her unwavering commitment to enhance the customer experience, and adhering to Exchange standards, she quickly earned the trust and confidence of our customers by improving their quality of life. During a recent image upgrade, Charity successfully maintained an impressive $56,000 in sales with four chairs, vs.  the previous setup of 14 chairs. Under her exceptional leadership, the Barber Shop average stands at $66,000, a remarkable 17% increase over the previous year and comparable to 2017, when we had our highest sales in the past 10 years. The Barber Shop generates 21.4% of Davis-Monthan’s total yearly income, making it the top Services contributor and making us fifth place in average sales for Western Region in 2023.  Charity has shown what Serving Those Who Serve can truly accomplish.

David Christianson
Fort Harrison Troop Store Facility Manager
Malmstrom Air Force Base

David Christianson has the important job of ensuring that our National Guard and Reserve members have everything they need while training in Helena, Montana. He makes sure he can fit everything needed for his customers into a less than 2,000-square-foot location. David runs a very tight operation and has increased the bottom line of Fort Harrison Troop Store by 55% for the first five months of this year. Always busy, he seeks every second to help increase his productivity and leads by example.

Brandon Nava
Gulf Victory Food Court Custodian
Fort Bliss

In his brief time of less than a year with the Exchange, Brandon has made an impression with his teammates and our guests with his go-getter attitude. He has taken his unique viewpoint as a Veteran with eight years active-duty service in the Army and zeroed in on achieving the mission and putting customer service front and center in all his actions. Brandon has been instrumental in maintaining cleanliness of the food court and ensuring that his “Battle Buddies” have a clean, bright, and welcoming environment to relax in. This, however, is not enough for Brandon; his need to improve his surroundings and the well-being of his co-workers has pushed him to join the Fort Bliss Associate Satisfaction Committee to improve his fellow associates’ morale.
