Exchange Cuts Ribbon on Expanded Express at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station
The Exchange celebrated the grand opening of a relocated and expanded Express at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Dec. 8.
Space Launch Delta 45 Vice Commander Col. Anthony Graham joined Exchange General Manager Thea Sarver and Express Manager David Gentry in cutting the ribbon on the store.
At 4,300 square feet, the Express is three times the size of the previous store and offers a larger assortment of items, including more Snack Avenue items and beverages. The store also features a Hunt Brothers Pizza restaurant.
“The expanded Express is much more conveniently located for our community and offers a lot more variety,” Sarver said. “Already, we’ve seen double the foot traffic since we opened, showing that this is something Cape Canaveral community members wanted and needed.”
The project cost just under $1 million was funded entirely by the Exchange. 100% of Exchange earnings are reinvested in military communities through support for on-base quality-of-life programs, as well as capital improvements, such as the relocated Express.
Anyone with installation access, including contractors, civilians and visitors, can purchase food at the Express and Exchange restaurants.
The previous Express location in Bldg. 1704 will now be an unmanned retail market, offering healthy grab-and-go meals, snacks and beverages.
