Words From the Director/CEO: For Exchange Truck Drivers, Life is a Highway—and More

It’s National Truck Driver Appreciation week, our opportunity to salute the Exchange’s road warriors who fuel our “We Go Where You Go” mission.

Team,

It’s National Truck Driver Appreciation week, our opportunity to salute the Exchange’s road warriors who fuel our “We Go Where You Go” mission.

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week was founded by the American Trucking Association in 1998 to pay respect to and thank professional drivers for their hard work and commitment.

There are more than 3.5 million professional drivers on U.S. roads today. More than 170 of those drivers are members of Team Exchange, delivering in conditions that range from ice storms to hurricanes to hot desert sands, from lonely highways to jammed city streets. More than 55% of our drivers are Veterans and more than 30 have driven a million miles or more safely for the Exchange.

During this week’s celebration, please join me in honoring and thanking our amazing drivers for the incredible work they do each day to support our Nation’s military mission. Associates in the field can offer personal thank-yous during deliveries along with signed cards or signs for the stockroom. Store teams can show their creative sides with banners, gift cards, treats or other kind gestures. General managers and store managers are encouraged to thank drivers in person as schedules allow.

Exchange drivers are the cornerstone of our worldwide supply chain. They are the vital link that ensures products are available for service members and their families. They go the distance for the heroes we are honored to serve.

Thank an Exchange driver this week—and any time you get the opportunity.

Wishing you all clear roads and green lights!

Very best,

Tom Shull

Director CEO
