Team,
Heroes are always welcome at the Exchange. And because one day is not enough to honor them, the Exchange is introducing Salute to Service month.
Each week during November, active-duty military, retirees and Veterans with in-store shopping benefits will receive an exclusive limited-edition token of appreciation at their local PX or BX. These are more than giveaways—this is an opportunity for Team Exchange to connect with our Nation’s military community and express heartfelt thanks for the courage and sacrifice of all who serve and have served with distinction.
The Exchange’s Salute to Service month will include several exclusive giveaways, including:
Nov. 1 and Nov. 29: POGs are back! Collectible penny POGs, with service-specific artwork, will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis. Corporate Communication Specialist Pete Frigillana, an Army Veteran, designed this special edition of the cardboard currency that has become a collector’s item and a unique military tradition. Exchange POGs go back nearly 25 years, when they were created to support troops deployed to Southwest Asia in the early 2000s.
Nov. 11: The 2025 Veterans Day collectible challenge coin, an Exchange tradition since 2020, features an eagle on one side and the emblems of all six military branches on the other. Limit one per customer.
Nov. 15: Vet for Life decals let heroes display their commitment to our Nation on their vehicle, laptops, water bottles or anywhere.
Nov. 22: Vet for Life patches honor military tradition and reinforce unity and morale. At the Exchange, all who served are Veterans for Life.
The Exchange will also remember its own during Salute to Service month, with weekly Where Heroes Work profiles of associate Veterans in the Exchange Post and on social media. Associates who are Veterans have also been invited to take part in a “Service to Service” series by submitting a 30-second video talking about their journeys from their time in uniform to their roles at the Exchange.
The Exchange’s social media team is also creating a virtual Wall of Honor to celebrate our Veteran associates, featuring photos of them in uniform or during active duty. Submit a photo of yourself in uniform or during active duty to socialmedia@aafes.com, and see it displayed on @exchangeassoc social channels, Facebook, Instagram and X.
Please remember to show your gratitude to our Veterans who have continued their service as Exchange teammates. It’s not just our shoppers who are heroes—our associates are too, as more than 80% of our team shares a military connection.
Thank you for all you do for the best customers in the world! Your dedication truly makes a difference for Warfighters, past, present and future.
Veteran for Life!
