Dr. Patrick Oldenburgh Jr. head shot with text: Strengthening Mobility

The Exchange’s strength has always come from associates who are willing to step forward, take on new challenges and serve wherever the mission calls.

I’m excited to share an important enhancement to our mobility program—one that directly recognizes the flexibility, resilience and commitment of associates who relocate in support of Team Exchange.

Enhanced mobility incentives

  • As of Feb. 1, associates approved for a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) or a Lump Sum Payment (LSP) move will receive:
  • 3% salary increase for a promotional move (applied after the promotional increase)
  • 2% salary increase for a lateral move

The introduction of a salary increase for lateral moves is a meaningful step forward as these moves historically did not include a salary increase.

Relocating is more than a change of address. It’s a commitment to mission readiness, operational excellence and supporting military communities. These enhancements reflect continued investment in associates who raise their hand to serve where they are needed most.

Strengthening ‘We Go Where You Go’

The Exchange is also expanding support for our mobile leaders through increased “We Go Where You Go” Award amounts. Associates in pay bands 3 and 4 now receive $4,000, up from $2,000 and $3,000 respectively. Pay band 5 associates take home $5,000, up from $4,000.

This program provides additional financial support during PCS moves, helping offset relocation expenses and easing the transition for associates and their families.

Mobile leaders are essential to success. Their willingness to move ensures continuity, strengthens operations and brings experienced leadership to installations around the world. This expanded incentive recognizes that contribution in a tangible way.

Commitment to Our People and Mission

As a global organization, mobility is not just part of what we do, it’s part of who we are.

These enhancements reinforce a core truth: When our associates move, they are not just filling a position, they are strengthening the Exchange’s ability to deliver on its mission of supporting service members and their families.

To every associate who has said “yes” to a new location, a new challenge or a new opportunity—thank you. Your dedication ensures we remain ready, responsive and mission-focused wherever we operate.

If you have questions about eligibility or the PCS process, please contact your assigned talent manager.

Together, we will continue to go where our service members go, strengthening readiness and supporting those who serve.
