The Exchange is adding more flavor and flexibility to its dining lineup with Moe’s Southwest Grill at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, the brand’s first location in Washington state.

JBLM’s Moe’s Southwest Grill joins 540 locations nationwide, including locations at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and Schofield Barracks. Together, these restaurants offer customizable BE FIT 360—Build A Better You meal options featuring fresh ingredients for tacos, salads and bowls, including vegetables and lean proteins such as steak, chicken and tofu, to support the nutritional readiness of Airmen and Soldiers.

“The partnership between the Garrison and the Exchange is special,” Joint Base Commander Army Col. Joseph Handke said. “The Exchange has been providing convenient, quality services to our community. This Moe’s opening today is like a renewed commitment from the Exchange to provide more variety to the base. Whatever your Tex-Mex preference is, we now have that option here and to build readiness and provide a better Quality of Life while not having to leave the base is great for the community.”

The fast-casual restaurant serves Southwestern-inspired favorites such as burritos, tacos, bowls, quesadillas and salads, all made to order with fresh ingredients.

Retired Air Force member Lorenzo Magana attended the grand opening and tried Moe’s for the first time.

“It’s good to have a new restaurant because service members need options that are reliable, quick and healthy,” said Magana.

The addition expands the Exchange’s better-for-you dining portfolio while giving customers more ways to build meals that fit their tastes and lifestyles.

“The Exchange is constantly looking for ways to bring more variety, convenience and better-for-you choices to the military communities we serve,” said JBLM General Manager Asia Gilchriest. “Moe’s Southwest Grill is a strong addition to our food lineup because it gives diners fresh, flavorful options they can personalize. Whether they are grabbing a quick lunch during the duty day or enjoying a meal with family, patrons can have healthy options with a taste that breaks the mold.”

Moe’s also builds on the Exchange’s existing relationship with the brand, which includes locations at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska as well as Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.

“We are focused on introducing new and exciting brands that provide greater variety and choice for our customers,” said Exchange Senior Restaurant Program Planner Ali Molt. “Expanding our mix of dining concepts, cuisines and flavor profiles helps keep offerings fresh and relevant while appealing to a diverse customer base.”

The addition supports the Exchange’s commitment to improving Quality of Life for service members, military families, retirees and other authorized shoppers by expanding access to trusted brands and relevant dining choices where the  military community lives, works and serves.
