This week is National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, an opportunity to thank and honor the drivers who are key to the Exchange’s “We go where you go” promise.
With 200 tractors and nearly 1,400 trailers, the Exchange fleet is the 15th largest private retail fleet in the U.S. Our more than 150 motor vehicle operators drive nearly 10 million miles a year, ensuring our Nation’s heroes are equipped with essential goods no matter where their service takes them. Nearly a third of our drivers are Veterans and nearly 30 have driven a million miles or more safely for the Exchange.
During this week, please join me in thanking our drivers for their commitment to supporting our Nation’s military mission. Store teams can welcome drivers with banners, gift cards, treats or other kind gestures. Associates can offer personal thank-yous during deliveries. Store leaders are encouraged to thank drivers in person as schedules allow.
Our drivers deliver more than goods. They deliver Quality of Life. Because of them, troops and military families have access to the best comforts and tastes of home. Their professionalism, commitment and drive make a tangible difference for the military community every day.
