One day is not enough to thank those who serve and have served. That’s why, for the second year, the Exchange is celebrating Salute to Service Month throughout November.
Active-duty service members, retirees and Veterans with in-store shopping benefits can receive exclusive, limited-edition tokens of appreciation at their local PX or BX. For our team, these events are a chance to spend a few minutes with shoppers and personally thank them for their sacrifices.
The complimentary tokens of appreciation, available at Exchanges worldwide, include:
Nov. 7: Veteran for Life keychains. A daily reminder that all who served remain part of the military community.
On or near Nov. 11: Collectible challenge coins. The Exchange continues the tradition, begun in 2020 in partnership with sister military exchanges, of honoring Veterans with a collectible challenge coin.
Nov. 20: Collectible penny POGs with Service-specific artwork. A new one-time only release series for 2026! Many Veterans remember POGs from downrange deployments; POGs are still accepted at the Exchange today.
I appreciate the work our store teams put into these events. Taking time to connect with our nation’s heroes and thank them for their selfless service makes every visit to the Exchange more meaningful.
We also remember our own during Salute to Service Month, honoring Veteran associates with Where Heroes Work profiles in the Exchange Post and on social media.
The Exchange’s social media team is also creating a virtual Wall of Honor to celebrate Veterans in our ranks, featuring photos of their distinguished service. Submit a photo of yourself in uniform or serving on active duty to socialmedia@aafes.com, and see it displayed on @exchangeassoc social channels, Facebook, Instagram and X.
