New Program Makes Transferring Between Exchanges Easier
Associates may find transferring from one Exchange to another much easier.
Associates who transfer from one Exchange to another will find their paths a little easier. Changes in the Associate Transfer Program allow associates more immediate opportunities to connect with their new duty stations.
“Transferring associates will receive personalized assistance from the local human resources office,” said Michelle Blankenship, HR manager at Joint Base McGuire-Dix, N.J., who helped spearhead the changes. “This will increase their chances of continuing employment with the Exchange. We’re committed to being their partner in the transfer. We now offer a more effective way of transferring our associates between locations, which means that your career with the Exchange does not need to end due to life events.”

Possibly no break in service
While there’s no guarantee that transferring associates will find a job at their new location, the recent changes will make it easier to do so. The transfer program involves improved coordination between local HR offices, so HR managers can better track associate transfer requests.
“The Associate Transfer Program enable associates to transfer from Exchange to Exchange without a break in service,” said Leigh Roop, EVP and chief HR officer. “Most of the transferring associates are military spouses and family members, and this enhanced program allows for them to continue their career alongside their military sponsor.
“This is another example of our commitment to the core value of Family Serving Family.”
Associates who wish to transfer should contact their local HR office to get the process started. Transfers are open to regular full-time, regular part-time, and intermittent associates.
