Open Enrollment for Benefits Runs Through Nov. 29

Open enrollment season is here. Associates can sign up for 2020 Exchange benefits from Oct. 28 through Nov. 29.

For more information about health plans, associates can participate in an open enrollment phone call hosted by Aetna. The call schedule and presentation can be found at NAFHealthPlans.com.

To compare medical plans and get recommendations, associates can visit Alex, the interactive computer program via Employee Self Service or the main page of NAFHealthPlans.com.

For the first time, associates around the world have a High Deductible Health Plan option with 20% lower premiums.

CONUS associates who enroll in this plan may also be eligible for a Health Savings Accounts, while OCONUS associates can open Health Reimbursement Accounts.

For the High Deductible Plan, the Exchange in January will deposit $500 into accounts of CONUS and OCONUS associates who have single coverage and $1,000 for family coverage to help with out-of-pocket medical expenses.

During open enrollment, associates can visit eBenefits to see the selection of benefits and prices. They also can change medical plans and other benefits.

In addition, associates on eBenefits can enroll in Flexible Spending Accounts for 2020.

Need changes in the dedutable for retires and couples with no children. Family dedutable of 1500 for a retiree is not fair. $500 is never met unless it’s emergency or extreme emergency. Being a retiree on fixed income would cause hardship. If I’m not allowed to add my grown adult children to my insurance for a family coverage I should not be charged the $1500 family dedutable. I feel like I am being punished for being old. I retired with 26 years I met all the requirements to you to have lifetime Insurance without premiums. The grandfather law that was mentioned to me before was not for me I had already made over 15 years before the insurance rules changed. When I signed all my documents in 1977 I was told if I worked hard and completed my service up to 20 years I would get paid insurance for life. I signed that contract and you are binding buy it. It has nothing to do with grandfather.

i heard there were some changes made to our health benefits and the retirees were not notify about them.
I went to our walgreen pharmacy to refill a prescription for my wife. The price is usually $5.97. I was told
that I had to buy a three month supply, per my insurance company. The price , $67.00.
I call Aetna and was told it was something the Department of Defense had changed. Aetna told me to talk to
the benefits department. Also, Aetna told me that I had to order our prescriptions thru CVS pharmacy. I
thought that when we, my wife and I, turn 65 years old that medicare would take over as our primary insurance and Aetna
would be our secondary/supplement insurance.
