Exchanges Prepare for Hurricane Sally

As Hurricane Sally threatens the Gulf and East coasts, Exchange stores are ready to weather the storm.

2020’s hurricane season has been active—and the Exchange prepared for months ahead of the storms. Because of this planning, Exchanges in Mississippi, Alabama and Florida are well prepared to take care of the military communities in Hurricane Sally’s path.

In Mississippi, the Keesler AFB and Gulfport Air National Guard Exchanges are closed through Wednesday as the storm nears landfall. Both locations, as well as Exchanges at Columbus AFB, Redstone Arsenal, Maxwell AFB, Fort Rucker and Eglin and Tyndall AFBs, are well stocked with emergency supplies such as generators, water, batteries and hygiene items.

Before the storm, the Services, Food and Fuel team focused its efforts on the Gulf Coast, ensuring that Express fuel tanks were full.

“Based on previous hurricanes this year and the tremendous preparation from teams across the enterprise, our stores are prepared to support Warfighters and their families with whatever they may need,” said Exchange Central Region Senior Vice President Jesse Martinez.
