One in a series honoring the Exchange’s 125 years of family serving family
Sisters Makfire and Arjeta Halimi have been taking care of the best customers in the world for 20 years. At the Bondsteel Exchange in the Balkans, the sisters come to work every day with smiles on their faces.
“We love taking care of our customers’ needs,” said Makfire, who serves as a cashier. “We are honored to serve those who serve.”

Arjeta is the Military Clothing Store manager at Camp Bondsteel. Together, the siblings have proved to be invaluable associates.
“They always go above and beyond to provide the best customer service possible,” said Balkans Exchange General Manager Ricky Finley. “We are honored to have them on our team.”
Makfire and her sister are grateful for the opportunity to work because jobs are hard to come by in their country.
“It was my sister who first started to work for the Exchange,” Makfire said. “This has been a great experience for the both of us.”
Both sisters value the work that they do and hope to continue their service to the military with the Exchange.
“The Exchange is a great organization to work for,” Makfire said. “We hope to continue to work until we can retire.”
