Military Clothing Store Conference Highlights Exchange’s Essential Service
The Exchange’s Military Clothing Store conference opened today in Frisco, Texas—the first MCS conference since 2020.
Exchange Military Clothing stores are the official outfitter of combat uniforms for America’s Warfighters, providing uniforms at cost. The conference highlights the importance of the Exchange in providing this service to the troops.
“The MCS teams fulfill our mission like no one else—they are the heart of what we do!” said Exchange Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer Karen Cardin, who opened the conference. “The networking and learning taking place during this conference is all directed toward strengthening support for our Warfighters.”
The conference is an opportunity for MCS associates to gather for presentations on Military Clothing store operations; attend training sessions and panel discussions from government agencies and vendors; and celebrate recent achievements with the presentation of vendor awards and store awards.
“MCS associates are meticulous in their care of our troops,” said Dan Koglin, Exchange vice president of hardlines, who oversees the MCS line of business. “It’s an honor to provide this essential service to Warfighters and ensure all their uniform needs are met.”
In addition to MCS associates and managers, other conference attendees include personnel from government agencies such as the Defense Logistics Agency, Army Clothing Services Office and Air Force Uniform Office; and clothing and tactical vendors.
Exchange directorate and military leaders spoke to the approximately 160 associates gathered for the opening event Monday afternoon. Attendees also heard remarks from featured guest speaker NFL player and entrepreneur Chris Gronkowski.
In his opening remarks, Exchange Divisional Merchandise Manager J.R. Chidester took time to honor beloved former Peterson Space Force Base MCS associate Jackie Arns, who passed away unexpectedly last year. Chidester unveiled a memorial patch honoring Arns that will be distributed to all attendees.
The conference runs through Friday, March 10. Follow the Exchange Post and associate social media all week for photos, news and happenings from the conference.
