We recently had a customer go through the drive-thru on a Wednesday night before closing. Associate Kiana Franco was working the window and the customer explained to her that it was one of the worst days of his life. She could tell he was having a really bad day and told the customer that occasionally we all have bad days. Then she paid for his meal. Delighted, he went home and explained to his wife what happened. The customer returned to our facility requesting to speak with the manager. He excitedly told the manager about his encounter with Kiana. As the customer was leaving, he left a card for Kiana. After the lunch rush, Kiana opened the card and to her surprise there was $100 bill for her awesome act of kindness. Due to an ethics policy, the money was returned to the customer. However, the facility is drafting an award to show appreciation for Kiana’s efforts. This is just one example of how amazing our Burger King team is!
Abul Khair

Abul has been with the Exchange for 20 years. Currently he is doing an exceptional job as the warehouse manager for Arifjan ZN1 supporting Logistics operations for Southwest Asia. He completes offloading and uploads all carrier and military air shipments, coordinating in-country courier trips and ground movement of containers to meet deadlines and use the quickest routes to support Iraq and other Southwest Asia locations, which is instrumental for Logistics operations. In the last 30 days, his team has completed 77 pallets that were air shipped to all Southwest Asia locations, 28 containers to Iraq stores, 85 pallets for in-country movements while offloading and segregating 45 containers and 60 pallets for air shipment. His attention to detail has helped Arifjan ZN1 to achieve an exceptional result in FY22 annual inventory variance of 0.03%. Thank you, Abul, for your service and dedication to the Exchange mission!
Antonio Giampaolo

Antonio started his Exchange journey as a temporary hire but has now been with us for five years and has become an extremely valued permanent team member. During the onset of the pandemic, he was always at the forefront, taking care of customers and offering to take on additional shifts in the absence of key personnel. Through Antonio’s hard work and dedication, he continues to go above and beyond to assist in all our store events. He has volunteered to be Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, and to be our store safety mascot to share safety tips and laws of bicycle riding. He also engages with the children of our community during Month of the Military Child—all to provide our military families with family photos and memories. Antonio’s spirit is motivating, and he displays a natural charisma that carries over into the whole team. He puts his heart and soul in all he does. We are honored to have Antonio as part of the Aviano main store and the Exchange family.
