Who she is: Tina Johnson, Human Resources systems analytics specialist II, Exchange Headquarters
Years with the Exchange: 37 years
What brought her to the Exchange: “I grew up in a military family and have always wanted to serve. Since I did not join the military, I felt this was a great opportunity to serve, and give back to the military community in a different aspect, while pursuing my college degree(s),” Johnson said.
Where she has worked: Johnson’s past roles include Finance & Accounting technician, Information Technology computer security specialist, Information Technology database specialist, Information Technology application systems program analyst, and Human Resources analytics specialist.
Her first role at the Exchange: She was as an accounting technician in the Finance & Accounting directorate.
Current role and responsibilities: As a Human Resources analytics specialist, Johnson supports systems and creates reports after analyzing associate data.
Memorable moment: “Having the opportunity to participate in the Exchange’s professional development course at the University of Arkansas in April 1999 is one of my most memorable moments,” she said. “I have terrific memories of my first years with the Exchange. There were many office potlucks, which supported team building, camaraderie and a sharing of terrific recipes and lifelong friendships.”
Military connection: Johnson’s father served in the Navy and Marines.
Family serving family: Her aunt and uncle both retired from the Exchange. “Her uncle served on the Europe contingency team in 2004,” Johnson said.
What does family serving family mean to you “Growing up in a military family instilled a sense of honor in me,” Johnson said. “It’s a privilege to serve and give back to my country. My family has been strengthened by understanding how our Nation’s Warfighters put themselves in harm’s way to defend and protect our country.”
