U.S. Central Command–The Exchange is improving the Quality of Life for troops at a U.S. Central Command area of responsibility location at the tip of the spear with a new spa.

U.S. Air Force Col. David Gunter, deputy commander of the assigned air wing, and Ken Limtiaco, Exchange Southwest Asia Region vice president for contingency, were joined by wing staff and Exchange associates at the grand opening ribbon-cutting in late March.

The recently opened Exchange Spa, in what is considered a military Logistics Sustainment Area (LSA) in the CENTCOM AOR, now offers a range of self-care services for military personnel and their families.

“We are very excited to offer this new spa service to the community,” Limtiaco said. “It’s another example of the Exchange’s ‘We Go Where You Go’ promise.”

The spa offers hair care, manicures, pedicures, body massages, waxing and facials. The spa has two hair-washing stations, nine treatment chairs and four private rooms—one for hair braiding, two for body massages and one for facials and waxing.

“Having additional resources like the spa helps our Warfighters receive services that are critical to their Quality of Life, especially in austere locations,” Gunter said. “Our Airmen can focus on their mission while others support their morale and well-being.”

The Exchange, which operates thousands of facilities worldwide, continues to prioritize the well-being of military personnel by offering services that help boost morale. The new spa is an important part of that effort, providing a welcoming retreat for those at the tip of the spear.
