The Army Veteran used to serve Soldiers in a chow line. Now “I get to serve them in a different capacity as the PowerZone sales area manager.”

“I grew up in a military family and have always wanted to serve. Since I did not join the military, I felt this was a great opportunity to serve.”

The 20-year Army Veteran has two daughters who work at Fort Irwin restaurants–which is where she got her Exchange start.

The 40-year-plus associate has been at Minot since 1988 and in her current position since 2002.

“I took a job with the Exchange to get back into the community I knew. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made.”

Twenty-five years after starting as a food-service worker, Beatty now manages the largest-volume Exchange in the continental United States.

The Afghanistan native, who was one of the first female translators in Afghanistan, moved to the U.S., where one of her mentors recommended that she apply at the Exchange.
